Western Division Award Nominations
Western Division Award Nomination Deadline is February 20, 2012
Now is the time to recognize your friends, colleagues, chapters, organizations, and others you feel have gone beyond the call of duty for fisheries management and conservation in western North America. The good news is the application process won’t take more than a few minutes of your time, and will mean a lot to both the person awarded, and the fisheries profession. Please take the time and recognize someone special! Nominate now! Nominate often!
Please refer to the Section Menu on the right for specific information related to each Western Division (Division) award. For all awards beside the Outstanding Chapter/Student Subunit Awards and the Riparian Challenge Award, please write no more than a one page description as to why the individual or organization deserves the particular award. For the Outstanding Chapter/Student Subunit Awards, please nominate using the template for the Outstanding Chapter Award/Student Subunit nominations on the AFS website (http://www.fisheries.org/afs/awards/awards_applications/award_outstanding). The Riparian Challenge Award will not be presented in 2012, due to the close proximity in timing of the Seattle meeting to the Jackson meeting.
Awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the Division and Colorado-Wyoming Chapter in Jackson, Wyoming at the end of March. Please email all award nominations to Lori Martin at lori.martin [at] state.co.us by Monday, February 20, 2012.
More information on small project grants can be found here.
The Western Native Fishes Database is an on-going project of the Division, designed to track native fish distribution within Division boundaries.
