Scholarships for the Conference, "Toward Ecosystem-Based Management: Breaking Down the Barriers in the Columbia River Basin and Beyond"

Spokane, Washington, April 27-May 1, 2002

Funding for these scholarships has been generously provided by
Columbia Basin Trust, Washington Department of Ecology, and Lake Roosevelt Forum.

CRITERIA:

Representatives of not-for-profit organizations, societies, community groups, and First Nations may apply for financial support from the Scholarship Fund. Scholarship awards will be based on financial need and the potential for professional development of the applicant. Geographic location of the applicant will be considered in the scholarship decision process, with preference given to individuals located in the Columbia River Basin.

AMOUNT OF AWARD:

There are two categories of awards: The first category of award covers the full early registration fee of $195 US. Applications for the second category of support, which includes registration fee, travel costs, and accommodations, will also be considered on a case by case basis.

DEADLINE:

Applications should be received before January 31, 2002. Applications received after this date may still be accepted if funds are available.

SELECTION:

All applications for the scholarships will be treated confidentially. Selections will be made in early February and all applicants will be notified of the results as soon as possible thereafter. Successful applicants must complete the conference registration form and submit it prior to the deadline for early registration. Recipients will be reimbursed in the amount of the scholarship after attending the conference.
